‘Picturing Hetty Feather’ exhibition

Exhibition runs 26 May 2017 — 03 Sep 2017.

This summer enjoy a day out at the Foundling Museum and explore our family exhibition Picturing Hetty Feather.

Discover how author Jacqueline Wilson’s much-loved character Hetty Feather has brought the history of London’s Foundling Hospital to life. Created by Wilson in 2008 during her Fellowship at the Museum, spirited Victorian foundling Hetty Feather has delighted young audiences with her adventures across five books, a stage show and a CBBC series.

This immersive exhibition explores the creative ways in which curators, writers, directors and designers have interpreted life at the Foundling Hospital, through television scenery, costumes, and rarely-seen items from the Hospital Collection. Try on costumes from the original CBBC television series, sit in Hetty’s classroom and discover what life was like for Hetty and her friends. The exhibition is packed full of fun activities throughout including the opportunity to test out your own creative writing skills.
