‘Silly Book of Side-Splitting Stuff’ by Andy Seed wins Blue Peter Book Award (5th March 2015)

The Silly Book of Side-Splitting StuffWorld Book Day started with a bang this morning as the Blue Peter Book Awards winners were announced live on  a special book-themed edition of Newsround. The Silly Book of Side-Splitting Stuff by Andy Seed  (illustrated by Scott Garrett) won the Best Book with Facts category.  The Best Story category was won by Pamela Butchart’s The Spy Who Loved School Dinners (illustrated by Thomas Flintham).

The winning authors appeared on Newsround to give their reaction to their win and the author/illustrator teams will appear on Blue Peter tonight to be presented with the Blue Peter Book Award trophies by Malorie Blackman, award-winning author and current Waterstones Children’s Laureate.

The winners were chosen from a shortlist of six books by over 200 schoolchildren across the country.
